Connectors for Your Application

Each component is manufactured to your requirements. These examples help identify the geometry and interfaces to discuss with 6CNC.

01

Contacts, pins & sockets

Small turned components, terminals, and receptacles with defined contact surfaces and final plated dimensions.

02

Threaded bodies & backshells

Connector bodies, sleeves, and adapters with coordinated threads, sealing features, and mating diameters.

03

Housings & interface components

Milled or multi-axis components with mounting details, slots, cavities, and specified assembly interfaces.

Engineering review

Precision at Every Mating Interface

Start with the features that determine fit, function, and acceptance. 6CNC reviews these requirements before confirming the manufacturing route.

01

Review mating geometry together

Identify concentricity, runout, position, lead-ins, and the interfaces that control assembly with the mating connector.

02

Separate pre-plating and final dimensions

State the coating specification, contact areas, masking, and the dimensions that must be inspected after plating.

03

Control edges and surface handling

Call out burr limits at cross-holes, slots, and contact edges. Agree cleaning, handling, and packaging for protected surfaces.

Capability reference

Connectors Machining Specifications

Use these published 6CNC reference ranges to begin your enquiry. The quotation confirms what applies to your actual part.

ItemPublished scope & project review
MaterialsAluminum, stainless steel, brass, and copper alloys; specify the grade and required condition.
Dimensional reference±0.01 mm typical; tighter features require review of material, geometry, size, and inspection method.
Surface referenceRa 0.8 μm available on suitable materials and accessible features.
Prototype timing referenceTypically 1–7 days after drawing, material, and process confirmation; the actual project schedule is quoted separately.
ProcessesTurning, Swiss machining, mill-turn, milling, and 5-axis machining according to geometry and quantity.
InspectionCMM, optical measurement, gauges, and inspection reports as required by the project.

Material and Finish, Planned Together

Specify the material

Aluminum is used for lightweight bodies; stainless steel for specified strength and corrosion requirements; brass and copper alloys for contact-related applications. Supply the exact alloy and electrical or thermal requirements.

Define the finished condition

Material and plating documentation can be included according to project requirements. Specify the coating system, thickness, masked faces, and final mating dimensions before manufacture.

Inspection Follows the Features That Matter

6CNC focuses process control on mating surfaces, threads, contact areas, sealing features, and plating-sensitive dimensions. Inspection and documentation are agreed against the drawing; electrical performance requires the specified component or assembly tests.

6CNC inspection laboratory with measuring equipment and machined components

01

Review the drawing

Confirm the material, geometry, critical features, quantity, and acceptance requirements.

02

Agree the route

Plan machining, workholding, any outside treatments, and inspection checkpoints.

03

Machine & finish

Produce the agreed drawing revision and coordinate the specified finishing sequence.

04

Inspect & prepare

Complete the agreed checks, documentation, and packaging for the order.

Before you enquire

Connectors Machining FAQ

Can you machine miniature contacts and pins?

Send the dimensions, material, quantity, plating, and burr requirements. 6CNC reviews Swiss machining or another suitable process against the actual geometry.

Can you manufacture custom connector housings?

Yes. Provide 2D drawings and 3D CAD files with the mounting, mating, thread, and sealing requirements. Samples may support the review.

What must be specified for plated contacts?

Include the base alloy, plating system and thickness, contact surfaces, masked areas, and final dimensions. Identify required certificates and inspection reports.
